Welcome back to Term 2 2024
Dear Year 6 parents/Carers,
As we approach the end of term 2, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and involvement. It has been a busy and exciting term, and we are proud of all that the children have achieved so far.
If you would like to see what the children have been up to this term, please visit the school website, and have a look at the year 6 blog, where we’ve shared highlights of this terms learning.
Looking ahead to Term 3, attached is a list of key dates and an overview of what the children will be learning to give you an insight into the exciting topics and activities planned. PE will be back to normal next term, so please ensure your child wears the correct PE kit to school every Friday.
One of the topics will be our DT project, Make Do and Mend, where the children will learn how to mend clothes using different stitching techniques. If you have any old clothes that you would like to donate for this project, we would be very grateful.
As we continue to prepare for the SATs test the children have all been given a login (see your child's reading record) to SATs Boot Camp where they can revise and look at topics they find difficult in maths, grammar, punctuation and spelling. It would be great if you could encourage and support your child to use this over the break.
If you have any questions about term 3, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher or Miss Harrison.
Finally as we prepare for the end of term 2, we would like to wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
Miss Harrison
Deputy Headteacher
Kind regards
